Ronnie Ford

Ronnie was born in 1951 in Dunoon, Scotland where he still lives and works today.

He created his first textured painting when he was 17 years old. His studies of sculpture and optical art at Glasgow School of Art encouraged him to experiment extensively with texture. It was his fascination with Asian art during this period which finally led to his decade spent in the Far East. There he began to explore the Chinese idea of taking a journey though the landscape as well as sharpening his focus on capturing the spirit of nature, rather than slavishly representing it. The bas-relief effect of his canvases, along with his vibrant use of colour, go together to make his unique TextureScapes, which are highly sought-after and appear in private and corporate collections worldwide.

We are delighted to be representing Ronnie and this first collection of work has been inspired by the area surrounding the artist’s second home in France as well as his native Scotland.
